Welcome back!

A couple weeks ago I introduced my first post about adult novels. It was well received, so I decided to continue with the posts! This post is all about my opinion on adult books that I have read recently or in the past. Enjoy!

The Cassie Palmer books are probably some of the BEST books I have ever read. I don’t reread very many series, I will be rereading this series for the third time sometime this year. As with many series, the book get better the more you read them. I don’t even know if I can tell you which one my favorite was. Maybe it was the last one? Or maybe the one before that? All that matters it that these books are BRILLIANT! I love love love love them. Go get them now.

Mehhh…I never fully got into these books. I liked the first one, but they just didn’t have that extra oomph that I’m looking for in my books. I remember that I would often put it down to read something else. I did start the second one, but I never finished it. I don’t even remember how far I got in it. I would recommend this book for when you want to read something that you can easily put down.

I read all of the books in the Kate Daniels series last year, and I fell in love. Not only did I love the character of Kate, but I LOVED Curran. Best man book crush ever? Curran’s my top pick. I also loved that these books were so unique. A lot of books tend to be so predictable, but I never really knew what was going to happen in this series. The story lines were also so awesome. Unfortunately, I have to wait till 2013 for the next book ]=! Good news? I’ll have to reread the entire series before I get to read the new one!!! I rated the first book about a 3. However, the series as a whole is like 12 stars out of 5!

Wow. First, this book was almost 600 pages. It wore me out!

If you haven’t read the Anita Blake books, then you definitely should. They are amazing! The only problem is that they are VERY intense. So intense that I can’t read them straight through. When I first started my Anita Blake kick I read about 6 or 7 of them in a row. Then I developed something that I called “an Anita Blake burnout.” I didn’t pick up another one for almost, if not over, a year. I read the 8th one last February, and now I just finished Obsidian Butterfly this month.

This book was REALLY good. I didn’t read it straight through, though. Anyone who has read these books will understand when I say that it would have been too physically exhausting to read this book without taking a break. I ended up finishing like 3 or 4 other books before I finished this one.

There is a lot of stuff that goes down in this book. I almost wish that LKH had made it into two books. Whenever I thought I was coming to a peaceful part of the book (HA!), I was instantly swept into another twist/plot. It was really good, though. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone as they are just SO good. Unfortunately, I have heard that the series goes downhill from here. I cannot attest to that, as I have not read anything past this book. I’ll just have to wait and see!

Warning: This book does contain abuse and child abuse.
