Twilight on T.V
10Dec2009 Posted by: Nikki Filed under: News
An Australian magazine published an article this week stating that the Twilight Saga is set to hit our television screens as a T.V series sometime next year, after the release of the Eclipse movie. Robert Pattinson is reported to be in negotiations to play Edward for a whopping US$2 mil per episode. The article didn’t mention anything about possible actresses in the lead to play Bella.
Could they milk the Twilight Saga any more? I’m wondering if anyone would even watch this. It seems silly, after releasing three huge blockbuster films, to try and adapt it to episodic television.
Here at yaReads, we’re wondering if this is true or just some elaborate hoax to help them sell magazines. We’re hoping for the latter. If you’ve heard anything about Twilight going episodic, we’d love to hear from you.

I highly doubt this is true. I’ll admit, there’s quite a bunch of ridiculous merchandise floating around out there, all for the sole purpose for milking the series for all it’s worth. But I don’t think they would be stupid enough to risk the popularity of the movies like that, and I definitely don’t believe it’d be something Robert Pattinson would sign up for.
And after all- what would they do in the show? Would it be life as vampires after Breaking Dawn? I definitely hope it’s not true. Stick with the movies. A television series is definitely not needed.

I really dont thinks this is true. I would have seen on Stephenie Meyer’s website that she signed the television rights for the book to be made into a series or something of that sort. Its starting to get annoying how they keep trying to basically use Stephenie Meyer’s books to get moeny in their pockets. And it just gives another excuse for all those Twilight Haters to blame the books and their author for bad television!!!!

Playing devil’s advocate here, maybe nothing has been released officially because they’re still in negotiation stages… though I really hope not. I think this would be a disaster.

Even if they’re thinking about doing this, I really doubt it’ll actually happen - how ridiculous would a TV series of Twilight be? It’s kind of sad how when something is really successful people just end up milking it until it becomes crap
I hope that doesn’t happen to Twilight. BTW, I could totally believe the whole 2 million thing… Some people have more money than sense :L

I’d believe the whole 2 million thing too. Doesn’t Charlie Sheen make something like that for every episode of Two and a Half Men? And weren’t the Friends crew also making something like that too? Back then, that was a lot of money but now its not so much for Hollywood.

I think it would make a great series, if they could get Rob to do it, I don’t think they would be able to come up with someone that could take his place and that’s the only way it would fly. As for people who don’t like the idea, you don’t have to watch it. Remember not everyone like’s the same type of shows, that’s why there is so many different ones.

oh my god! They cannot do this! It would be horrific…im not even a fan of the movies and if i hear or see anymore of Robert Pattinson i’ll drop dead lol! He’s not as hot as everyone keeps gobbing on about. Even in the twilight books i was 100% team Jacob lol.
