Twilight on T.V
10 Dec 2009 Author: Nikki Filed In: News
An Australian magazine published an article this week stating that the Twilight Saga is set to hit our television screens as a T.V series sometime next year, after the release of the Eclipse movie. Robert Pattinson is reported to be in negotiations to play Edward for a whopping US$2 mil per episode. The article didn’t mention anything about possible actresses in the lead to play Bella.
Could they milk the Twilight Saga any more? I’m wondering if anyone would even watch this. It seems silly, after releasing three huge blockbuster films, to try and adapt it to episodic television.
Here at yaReads, we’re wondering if this is true or just some elaborate hoax to help them sell magazines. We’re hoping for the latter. If you’ve heard anything about Twilight going episodic, we’d love to hear from you.

New Moon Movie Smashes the Box Office
20 Nov 2009 Author: Nikki Filed In: NewsIt has been reported in various American media outlets this morning that the second film in the Twilight Saga, New Moon, is about to reset the record for takings at a midnight screening. Pulling between $23 and $24 million for the 12.01 screenings alone, if ticket sales continue through the day, it’s predicted that New Moon will trample all over The Dark Knight’s and Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince’s record takings.

The Host: A Movie
29 Sep 2009 Author: Nikki Filed In: News
We understand that we’re a little slow on the uptake with this one, but Stephenie Meyer has announced that her only non-Twilight related book, The Host, is officially being made into a film.
From Stephenie Meyer’s website:
“I’m so excited to be working with Nick Weschler, and Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz to bring The Host to a visual format. They’ve all been a dream to work with, so lovely and collaborative, and I feel like we’re in a really good place to make a great movie together. And then to have Andrew Niccol writing and directing? Truly awesome. If you’ve never seen Gattaca, go watch it now. One of my favorite movies of all time. It’s such a great example of character driven science fiction, which is ideal for The Host, no? I’m having an absolute blast imagining different dream casts, which I would post if people didn’t take my silly blogs so seriously these days. I’m looking forward to seeing the cast lists you come up with in the fansite forums, and if any of them match mine.”
So what do we think Meyer fans? Love it, or hate it?
New Moon Movie Soundtrack Announcements
29 Aug 2009 Author: Nikki Filed In: News
Stepheniemeyer.com has released information regarding the New Moon movie soundtrack.
The first single has officially been confirmed for the New Moon Soundtrack! Death Cab for Cutie has written an exclusive song for the movie entitled ‘Meet Me On the Equinox.’ Below is a statement from the band about the song:
“We are very excited to be a part of this amazing series of novels set in our own backyard. It just seemed a perfect synergy that a band from the Northwest would create a song for a series of novels set in the Northwest. We wrote ‘Meet Me On the Equinox’ to reflect the celestial themes and motifs that run throughout the Twilight series and we wanted to capture that desperate feeling of endings and beginnings that so strongly affect the main characters. This song marks the first attempt that Death Cab for Cutie has ever made at contributing new, unreleased material for a film and we are proud to be a part of the Twilight legacy.” — Nick Harmer / Death Cab for Cutie
The album cover is the same as the first promotional movie poster and will be in stores on October 20th, 2009.

Rachelle Lefevre, who plays the character of Victoria in the Twilight movies, is being replaced!
Taken straight from Summit Entertainment’s website
Summit Entertainment has announced tonight that
Bryce Dallas Howard will take over the role of “Victoria” in the upcoming film The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.
Rachelle Lefevre, who played Victoria in Twilight and the upcoming
New Moon will not continue in the role due to scheduling conflicts with another commitment the she has made. Eclipse is due to start filming this coming August in Vancouver.
“We are incredibly happy that Bryce has agreed to come into the franchise,” said Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Worldwide Production and Acquisitions. “Rachelle brought “Victoria” to great screen life and Bryce will bring a new dimension to the character. The franchise is lucky to have such a talented actress as Bryce coming in to fill the role.”
Bryce has featured in movies such as Terminator Salvation and Spiderman 3, so it’s not like she’s new to the screen. Still don’t recognise her name? Then check out her picture:
We think she’s kind of cute, and she definitely has the right look about her, but we’re saddened by the fact that Rachelle will no longer hold the role of Victoria. Eclipse is the part of the saga where Victoria becomes a more central character. So what do you guys think, will changing actors this far into the series be problematic? How do you guys feel about it?
Stephenie Meyer Takes Down Her Myspace
4 Jun 2009 Author: Nikki Filed In: NewsYep, that’s right yaReaders, Stephenie Meyer announced on her official website today that she’s taking her “bloated” myspace down.
“A quick fyi: I am taking down my bloated myspace page. It was a lot of fun while it lasted, and I really miss the early days when I could hang out with people online. Many of you are hilarious and insightful, and I wish it was easier for me to talk to everyone the way I used to.
With the myspace no longer in existence, I can now clearly state that—beside than this website—there is no other outlet where I communicate with people online. I do not have a facebook page, and I have never had one. I don’t do twitter. So if you’re communicating with someone online that you think is me, it’s not.”
