With Aleric telling her that evil is knocking on the door and that she is the only one who can stop them she has a choice to make. Refuse, or start the wildest most painful ride of her life.
She reluctantly dips her toe into her new existence of magic and threads, dragons and shapeshifters, and the person who wants to take control of it all: the evil Dralazar.

However, this journey was never meant to be hers alone. She will be accompanied by a Protector. To her disbelief, and utter irritation they name the hotheaded, stubborn, non -magical, (albeit gorgeous) Prince Emane. They will have to trust each other with their lives, but right now Kiora would settle for a non hostile conversation.

And now it comes down to this, If you had never heard a lie, would you know when you heard one? Is knowing good from evil innate? Kiora finds herself having to decide who lives and who dies on those very questions.

Author Interview

Can you tell us about the Solus series in 20 words or less?

If you never heard a lie would you know when you heard one? Find out in this epic fantasy adventure.

Psssst— 20 words is not very many! Lol

Which book was your favorite to write?

Book three, Wings of Nestor.

Can readers look forward to any hunky guys in the Solus series?

Ummmmm, yes. Two actually, if you would like a sneak preview just look at my covers.

Do you have a favorite scene from any of the books?

Why are these questions always so hard! I have a few scenes that I really do love but I don’t know if I can narrow it down to one! Between the training scenes with Kiora and Alcander, the dragons- OH, and the vines in the castle battle scene! I can’t pick!

What was the toughest book to write in the Solus series?

BOOK FOUR! I really panicked when I started writing book four and the pressure completely paralyzed me. To give you an idea how bad it was, I finally decided that maybe I hated it because I was just too close to the book, so I sent it to my editor. I got a phone call that sounded something like this. “So, Devri… ummmmmmm, well… What happened? (Insert Devri’s wail of agony here) Seriously, Devri, it doesn’t even sound like your writing.” Yeah, I’ve had better phone calls. In other words, I had to rewrite the entire book. But that’s ok, because it’s so much better and I am quite happy with it.

Did you ever experience writer’s block?

Yes. The shower is my best friend to work through writers block, something about the heat and the white noise helps me get my ideas flowing again. Some days it is a must that I take more than one shower….poor me. Hehehehehe

Do you have plans to continue the Solus series with future books or novellas?

No! It is done, done I say! The only thing that might happen….maybe, is a prequel. I have had many a request for that, but if it does happen it wont be for a while.

Are you currently working on anything else?

Of course! I am working on a stand alone fantasy at the moment. I also have a backlog of other stories and ideas to start as soon as I get to them!

What is the best book you’ve read recently?

Game of Thrones. ( I now offer a disclaimer that Game of Thrones is in no way a YA read, and I would not recommend it for young people. ) George Martin is a brilliant writer.

What is currently on your TBR pile?

Next up on my list is, Cinder.
