Laurie Halse Anderson to Appear at ALAN Breakfast

This just in from the ALAN Review:
Laurie Halse Anderson, author of Speak (Farrar Straus Girroux, 1999) and Wintergirls (Viking Juvenile Publishing, 2009), will be the featured speaker at this year’s ALAN Breakfast, a program listed as part of the National Council of Teachers of English Annual Conference in Philadelphia, PA. At the 2008 ALAN Breakfast in San Antonio, Anderson was awarded the ALAN Award for her outstanding contributions to adolescent literature.
In addition to Anderson’s speech, the ALAN Board will recognize this year’s recipients of the Ted Hipple Service Award and the ALAN Award. If you would like to attend the 2009 ALAN Breakfast, you can register for the event through NCTE’s Annual Conference Online Registration Form.
