Welcome back!
This Tuesday (the 3rd) I am turning 22! That means I had an awesome Barnes and Nobles trip where I got to milk my dad for all his worth [; Let’s take a look at what I got.
For Review
Insurgent by Veronica Roth
Die for Me by Amy Plum
Shadow Heir by Richelle Mead
Nightwalker by Jocelynn Drake
Red-Headed Stepchild by Jaye Wells
Nightshifted by Cassie Alexander
Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini
Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver
Last Breath by Rachel Caine

I am SO excited about all my new books! I’m also really excited to get up to date! Haha. I didn’t realize how far behind I was on all the popular books. I don’t even know where to start. I think Insurgent is next because I’m just about finished with Divergent. Where do I start after that? I have no idea!!!!

Looks like a ton of great books. Happy Birthday and go dad!
Happy Birthday! That is a haul and a half, I would so love to be you right now… I’m interested to see what you think of Nightwalker, Shadow Heir and Red-Headed Stepchild – I’ve read them all but Nightwalker was the only one where I read every book, and even that was difficult. They’re all great but the romantic drama can be pretty intense. You’re smart though, since if you fall in love with any of them they’re all completed, so you can go buy more & speed through them. I loved the ending of the Nightwalker & Sabina Kane series, but Richelle Mead’s was controversial… Hopefully you’ll do reviews of the ones you like, or not so much
Also, I’m so jealous you got Nightshifted, I’ve been dying to read that book. A hospital for supernatural creatures is one of those story ideas that makes me go, ‘Why didn’t I think of that?’
Haha..thanks Gemma! Don’t worry! I’ll do reviews of all of them…eventually. I have a few things I have to get through first.
I haven’t read any of that series by Richelle Mead. I really got it because I my mom loves them and she has the first three..or two..however many there are. I eventually plan to read those, though.
I am probably most excited (regarding the adult titles) for the Cassie Alexander book. I have been DYING to read it! I’ve already been in contact with that author, so, hopefully there will be more special posts involving her.
I’ll definitely keep an eye out for that. I kind of forgot about Nightshifted since I’ve been reading lots of YA recently (reading Insurgent right now, it’s awesome so far), so I’ll have to go order it and see if the book is as good as the concept
Hopefully you’ll like the Richelle Mead series – I really wanted to love it since VA is one of my all-time favourites, but the triangle intensity & the main character (Eugenie?) started to annoy me too much. The world building is amazing though, really original.
I’ll def let you know! Haha…I’m reading Insurgent right now too! It’ SO GOOD! I only have like 100 pages left ]]=
I’m a little nervous because I’m not a big fan of the Georgina Kincaid series. I’ll get it a shot eventually.
Yeah, it confuses me how Richelle Mead can write such amazing YA and then be responsible for Georgina Kincaid…
On a totally random note, have you read A Discovery of Witches? It has been insanely successful, the reviews on Amazon are well over 1,000 & I think there’s a movie in the works. The first book is set mostly at Oxford University, so it feels kind of like Harry Potter, and then the romance kicks in and it is pure Twilight, except with a witch and a vampire. The second book is out next week and they time travel to Shakespearean England, so as a total English and history nerd I must read it
