Francis Lawrence Confirmed to Direct Catching Fire
You may have had the chance to read my previous post, Francis Lawrence Offered Directing Job for Catching Fire. Well, it has now been officially confirmed that Lawrence has got the job, and he has a special message for all you fans.
“Hello fellow Hunger Games fans! I just want you all to know how unbelievably excited and honored I am to be a part of Catching Fire. At the end of the day, all of the work that I put in to my movies is for you — the fans. Make sure to post and let me know what you’re most excited to see in this adaptation as we aim to make something truly faithful and spectacular! It is truly an honor and a privilege to bring Catching Fire, the second chapter of Suzanne’s beloved trilogy, to the big screen. I fell in love with the characters, the themes and the world she created and this chapter opens all of these elements up in such a thrilling, emotional and surprising way. I can’t wait to dive right into it and bring this chapter to life along with the truly superb cast and filmmakers involved.”
What do you guys think? Are you excited or disappointed? Just nervous? I don’t really know how I feel. I loved Gary Ross, but I don’t really know much about Francis Lawrence. I guess I’ll just have to sit back and wait to see what happens.
That’s all for now, folks. See you next time!

I feel as if Gary Ross created a good foundation for the rest of the movie adaptations, however, I am still a little nervous for Catching Fire. In the Harry Potter movies, if one watches them in order, one can tell something is different about when new directors were hired. Each director has his or her own unique style, therefore I hope that Catching Fire will not seem too different stylistically than The Hunger Games. Catching Fire, I hope, will still be a great movie. However, if taken in the wrong direction, or if too many plot points are cut out, it could be a disaster.
