Divergent

I saw that Divergent is in pre-production at the moment (from Summit). I can't find a cast list yet so am letting my mind run free with ideas - who would you like to see cast in the film?

I've seen a lot of people throw around Dianna Agron and Saoirse Ronan for Tris - I think Dianna is probably a bit old but Saorise could pull it off! I've really got no idea who I want but Chloe Moretz is cute and about the right age. I think she could be perfect!

As for Four, I've seen some people say they'd like Ian Somerhalder and yes, he is hot but waaaay too old. Keeping with the Vampire Diaries cast, I'd like to see Steven R McQueen get a break! He's adorable and pulls off angsty quite well on TVD.

Any thoughts? :D

I haven't read Divergent yet. I got it from the library last week, and it's currently on my floor, but I have to finish a few things before I can get to it. I've heard great things, though!

I'm pretty positive that Saoirse Ronan will not be in the movie if there is one. She's already the lead in The Host. If they cast her in another big YA title, then the viewers will automatically think of Melanie from The Host.

I like Dianna Agron, but I'd have to read the book to see if she'd fit the part. She's a little soft. So if the character is supposed to have a lot of spunk, then I would say no.

I love Ian and Steven. I think that would depend on their Vampire Diaries Schedule. Ian is also being looked at for Christian in Fifty Shades of Grey. If he lands that part, then it would probably be a no. lol.

Ahh I didn't realise she was in The Host The character is supposed to be a bit fiery, yes - that's my thought too. I can only see her trying to be mean as Quinn and still just seeming lovely. Hahah. Lord! All of my suggestions shut down so easily ;)

Yeah its my next book to read too. I'm even thinking of putting down Golden Lily and tackling it.

You should!

There's a little bit of the book that sorta upsets me...but it's really good other than that.

The Golden Lily does pick up. It was a little hard the first 3-5 chapters.

Okay so I have a very very clear vision of Tobias in my head and Ian Sommerholder is NOT it.

Diana Agron was in I Am Number Four and I don't think she has the aggression to play Tris.

Like all our other fave movies, no one we choose will be in the film. They'll probably be smaller actors looking for a big break.

I wouldn't complain if Iam Somerholder played Four, but, you're right, he's not who I envision as Tobias.

Ian is too old. These kids are supposed to be 16 - 18 years old. He most certainly doesn't look that way anymore.

I don't think Ian looks too old. Older than 16-18, but he doesn't look that old IMO.

Again, though, he'll never get the part. He's a huge target for Christian Grey right now. I don't think they would allow him in that type of movie after playing such a role.
