Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy
I am sooo surprised we dont have a thread going on this book yet.
Well i just finished the trilogy and well it fell a little flat for me. All the climatic parts built up like they were going to be great and exciting
but they happened and then the scene was over and im like what???
It was too hyped up and it just fell flat. There was alot of sex and at first it was exciting but then as the books when on the scenes just repeated
themselves.
For those who read the books, what did you think?

I'm on the second book. I have been for awhile lol.
The first was good. They're difficult for me because I HATE Anastasia. I've never hated a character as much as I hate her. Omg She whines
sooooooooooooooooooooo much. And she'll go and on and on about how she can take care of herself and how she doesn't need Christian to take care of
her, but she acts the complete opposite of that.
I love Christian. He's one of my favorite male characters ever. I don't really know what that says about me...
The books are a little weird for me to read because I'm not into that sort of thing lol. It's really hard for me to read about such a weak, submissive
female.
The second book is about the same as the first. I'm finding it really hard to finish because I hate Anastasia so much. I'll read them all...but man...
lol

I know that it started out as a twilight fanfiction. I'm not sure if the author created the fanfiction though

I just finished the first one, and I can say that I did enjoy it. I kinda liked Ana because I was really thinking that she was just going to jump into
whatever he said, but she did think about what it would really be like and if she could do it, etc. But I did see her kinda whiny. I did like
Christian, but I haven't fallen for him yet. He does seem like a nice guy, and I can see that he likes, and maybe loves her, but idk about his whole
BDSM thing. I will definetely read the next ones and see where it all goes.

I felt like she thought about it...but deep down she kind of knew she would cave to whatever he wanted. Yea...she left him...but I think she would
have came crawling back with or without his proposal.
The BDSM thing was kinda awkward to read. I found myself a little uncomfy at times haha

Everyone was talking about it at BEA.
Apparently it DID start out as Twilight fanfiction and then when the publication deal came around they just changed the characters names from the
Twilight names.
I havent read it, but I'm very interested. Is it worth it?

They're ok. They're a little intense, but they're kind of addicting in a sense. I've read better books...but..ehh

It def. is a rip off of twilight but it has its own thing going on. I can agree it is addicting but only because you want to know what happens next.
Thats not in a good way either. Anasthesia is very annoying through the whole series and christian is too controlling. Even more than edward in
twilight.

Yeah, that's exactly it! You want to see what happens next....but it's not because you're in love with the books. You just kind of get into this
shocked mode..and you HAVE to see what's going to happen.
Christian is VERY controlling. I love him a lot, but I would never want a relationship like that either.
Anastasia is sooooo annoying. I could have done without her.

I found it to be very addictive, all three books. However, both characters did annoy and frustrate me at times.
I think it's biggest appeal for me personally was that it was so far removed from the world I live.

^That was kind of appealing. It's not something that I'm at all familiar with, so it was kind of fascinating.

Christian is verrryyy controlling, and I defintely won't go with that. I think the book was good, just the BDSM was kinda whack. That stuff kinda did
make me uncomfortable and was weird to read.

I think what annoyed me most was it's nothing I hadn't heard of or read in books before. I mean...the sex was just apt up to about every 4-5 pages. I
wish she would have toned down a little on that because it sort of put me off the book a little bit.

There's a story line.
It's about this girl, Anastasia, who is attending college. She ends up meeting Christian during an interview and he immediately takes to her because
he finds her so submissive. So then he basically stalks her. lol. Then the rest of the story is basically about them trying to find a balance and
forming a relationship together even though Christian is so screwed up from his childhood.

There are some similarities. I actually didn't notice them until someone pointed them out to me. So I wouldn't say that they're necessarily related,
besides the fact that it came from Twilight fanfiction, but I do see it a little better than I used to.

agreed! Unlike everyone else I just could not fall in love with the characters. The story line was blah and every time it started getting good it
would fall flat.

Yea, I totally saw the similarities between this and Twilight early on, but I think it does stand as it's own story. I think Anastasia has a little
more balls than Bella does.
Also, I'm not a prude or anything, but reading about sex every chapter was kinda bleh. I don't mind reading a good romp, but it was pretty excessive.
Christian definitely has stamina. lol
