Black Dawn: A Morganville Vampires Novel

Has anyone else read this? I just finished it over the weekend. I'll be writing a review for it but my general feeling is that I don't like the way she's adopting the new perspectives.

How does everyone else feel about this?

I was supposed to get this book for review, and it never came lol. So, I never got around to buying it. I haven't read the two before it either. I don't know why, because I loved these books.

I just have SO much to read!

I'm interested to see your review on this book, though. I kind of feel like the series is being pushed a little far.

My observation is that her approach to the series changed when she changed publishers. I prefer the older style to her new approach.

*shrugs*

She needs to wrap it up, I think.

I didn't even realize she changed publishers. That could definitely be it.

You said she's adopting new perspectives. It's not just the main girl talking anymore?

Nope. And when a new character comes in she shifts from third to first POV. Claire's POV is always narrated in third but the others are in first. I dont like it at all.

That would drive me crazy. Sounds a lot like City of Lost Souls. There were soooooo many perspectives in that book...I just wanted to stop reading it lol.

I am definitely not a fan of the switching perspectives. The series was a lot better in the begginning. I completely agree that she should wrap it up soon. I wasn't really unhappy or dissapointed with the book, it was just mediocre.

^My thing is that it took me awhile to get into the books. I didn't start LOVING the series until like book 4 or 5. I loved Kiss of Death (I think that's what it's called. I'm currently on Ghost Town (I think). So I'm liking them a little bit more as they go on. However, I'm really not a fan of multiple perspectives. That's gonna bug me hugely.

Really?! I was the complete opposite. I loved the series earlier, up to like book 7 or 8. Now, I am kind of just wanting it to be over. AND, the multiple perspective thing is killer and bugged me sooooo much in the book.

Yeah. I almost didn't continue the series after the first two books.

COLS did that too with the multiple perspectives. I don't know why it's such an "in" thing lately.
