Hello
Hi, I'm Ben. I'm new here.
My user name is the name I was given on my first ever email account (hence it's a bit odd!). I am a huge fan of YA fiction and literary fiction too.
My favourite YA books at the moment (I can never choose one!) are BSRK by Michael Grant (it's amazing!) and I also love Bullet Boys by Ally Kennen (I
grew up on Dartmoor in England, and that's where the book is set). Ally Kennen writes brilliant angry, naughty, dysfunctional male characters - you
want to punch them and hug them at the same time! Her first book is called Beast and it's great. I've still got to read her others. I love the Naughts
and Crosses trilogy by Malorie Blackman and I've read all of the Charlie Higson books and lots of Anthony Horowitz's. I love The Hunger Games but I
still haven't read the other two in the trilogy! I also loved Philip Pullan's His Dark Materials trilogy.
One of my favourite non-YA books is The Restraint of Beasts by Magnus Mills. It's very simple, very dark and very funny (I might have a bit of an odd
sense of humour though). I could go on about loads of other books I love, but I guess this is getting boring, so I'll save that for later...
Forgotten what else I'm supposed to say here now. Nevermind. Hello.

I'm also an avid reader and I love the new YA novel The Last Prince of Atlantis
The Last Prince of Atlantis is the 1st YA fantasy novel I have seen with a African American biracial lead with diverse characters. It's nothing urban
at all, it's a fantastical journey with a beautiful Athena who is a Australian Greek socialite who happens to be a Greek goddess related to Zeus. The
novel is a constant page turner with the two orphan teens(Francisco and Jake) who are Allen's the leads friends. They start off as bully's and they
eventually turn their lives around as their swept into the fantasy world fighting with Allen and Athena against gargoyles and reptilians. I love the
details on what the teens are wearing which makes it so Gossip girl-ish in a cool way. The topics like bullying, teen pregnancy is well written in a
non threatening way. I predict this novel The Last Prince of Atlantis will be the next YA phenomenon.
