I've heard more positive reviews for this one than negative. It seems most are saying that it's a little slow going, but a beautiful story. I have it on order so I guess I'll find out what I think soon.

I just finished it a few days ago and I definitely agree it's pretty slow paced but so beautifully done. I was lost in the story and the characters.

*slight spoilers* i find it hard to read. It's wonderful and the characters are great and well developed. I just find it unnerving to read about the complete lack of choices. Not only do they allow this society to dictate their lives, literally to the death but the general population allows and even likes it. They are happy pretending to live. What essentially makes up our lives is missing. There is no indecision, no trails, no mess. Ally Condie did an amazing job creating the perfect society and her story is great it's just..... unnerving to read. I am enjoying this book a lot so far and i can't wait for more. This book offers quite a bit to ponder.

I thought it was a masterfully written book. Ally Condos did a very good job. Indeed, it was slow, but very good.

I've seen this in the bookstore and contemplated buying it. I remember Christina said she really liked it.

At reading101 - I t hink it was worth reading. If you liked the Hunger Games, I think you might like Matched too. It has a kind of setting like the Hunger Games.

It is slow to start, but once it starts, it really gets going and I really loved it.

It's not about being action packed it's all about the concept of what's happening in the society and what that means for Cassia

All the people who hate it keep going on about how it's unoriginal, that's the dumbest thing i ever heard. Sure it might remind you of other dystopias, but ever book reminds you of another, it's all about whether the book was executed well, and this was.

You should definitely give this one a go, I really really want to know what happens in the next book.

I loved this book. I actually didn't find it slow at all. I can't wait for the next one! I would have flipped if there was no second book planned. :P

I think it's crazy to read about all these dystopian societies (Uglies, Delirium, Hunger Games, etc.) but also really interesting. On the one hand I know that today's society is a much better place to live in all around, but I can't help but get so into these books that I almost wish I had a chance to see what these societies are like! Does anyone else ever feel like that with these types of books?

I read this book and I liked it a lot too. I agree with Aurora that books like The Hunger Games and The Uglies are intersting. I also think it may be interesting to live in these societies for a day maybe, but, I am pretty sure I like ours way better. More democratic. Great Book though. :)

Like reading 101 said, it would be cool to go for the day, but no more than that. Whenever I read dystopias you feel that underlying sense of terror because those societies are generally so restrictive and oppressive.

Reading about them though is definitely very interesting.

What was your favourite part of Matched?

For me, I was always looking forward to the hiking parts. I love how the romance between Cassia and Ky developed.

Actually, I just posted in the Delirium topic, and something about Cassia and Ky's relationship seems so much more developed than Lena and Alex's. It's hard to explain.

But I don't want to be disappointed. I've read some pretty bad reviews.

I'm about 160 pages into Matched and I'm having a really hard time sticking with it. It has a good concept, but it's kind of boring. I know that it has the potential of being REALLY good, but OMG. I want a LITTLE action! Barely anything has happened!

Stick with it!

For those who are having trouble getting through the book for the first big chunk, stick with it! It IS worth the time and trouble! I actually liked it from start to finish, but have friends who had similar complaints at the start, but really appreciated it by the end.

I love some of the greatest works of the Hunger Games. If it is any like hnger game, they must be worth reading.
