Ok, I can't take this anymore. I beg you Rachel, I implore you, no more cliffhangers.
I can't take it anymore. My heart wont survive another one. I was in knots and my stomach was churning violently ALL the way through LOM.
And how could you dangle Shane in front of Claire like that, in front of ME like that and then just take him away again?! Oh poooooooooop.
I'm kind of talking in code here, because I dont want to ruin it for anyone else, but I have to believe that he'll get out, right? Are you planning on
leaving him in that thing for long?
Oh loooooooorddddddddd. June is way way way too far away. I'm going to combust, COMBUST i tell you.

You know what? THERE AREN'T ANY MORE! I swear. CARPE CORPUS has no cliffhanger, and neither does FADE OUT (at least as I'm currently planning
it).

I don't want to damage anybody! Oh dear. How about if I say "It'll all work out?" Er, mostly?

I'm hanging my head in writerly shame. Yes, I know it's a long time. The only saving grace is that, um, sample chapters. On my website. I've put
up the first part of CARPE CORPUS already, and I'll be adding more each month to tide you over.
Sorry. I love suspense, but maybe I used the Suspense Spice a little too heavily this time.

That helps ... a little. Please dont kill Shane, please don't kill Shane, please don't kill Shane. And please don't make them get married before they,
errrr ... do anything adult.

If you don't mind, could you tell me where I might find a Shane? He's so perfect. He is sensitive enough, but he hasn't lost his manliness, you know?
He's rugged, yet he has a soft side too. Gosh I love that. And its so rare. Oh wait, thats why its fiction huh? Cuz really, those guys don't exist.
Ever. Anywhere. LOL.
And I've read your sample chapters, VERY VERY suspenseful. The first chapter of Carpus Corpe had me sitting at the computer doing this - O - with my
mouth.
Do you have the titles for the next installments after CC? Not that CC's title gives me anything away at all.
Oh sigh. Why did I read so fast. Why do I always do this to myself. Now I have to wait SIX MONTHS for the next book. Im a sucker for punishment, can
you tell?!

Hi Rachel, I just recently finished reading Lord of Misrule and all I have to say is...WOW! It was awesome. It was like I was having an adrenaline
rush all throughout the book. I'll be reading The Weather Warden series next.
Also, I would like to congratulate you for being on NY Times Children's Best Sellers list. That is so cool and I'm so happy for you!

Thank you SO MUCH! I'm glad you liked the book -- I had a fantastic time writing it.
I'm on cloud nine about the whole list thing! Also, SHOCKED!

Rachel, have you had the same cover art designer for each cover?

It's a little tough to tell, because those particular Morganville covers are done in-house by the NAL JAM design team, versus an independent cover
artist (like the Weather Warden books).
But I think it's pretty consistent.

Sense I recently finished the magnificent, and heart wrenching LORD OF MISRULE, this question came to mind: When you started the series, did you have
a clear vision as to how the series would end? Did you know exactly what you would put Claire and Shane's relationship through? (I guess that's two
questions, lol!)

Oh, Vee! I *love* your icons -- SO COOL! (As a writer, it's freaky to see your words on icons. BUT SO COOL.) May I put them on my site in the fan
art section and credit you?
I actually DID have a clear idea of where the series would end up -- or at least, this phase of the story, I should say, which ends in CARPE CORPUS.
In FADE OUT, it's a brand new Morganville day. (Night?) :o
Did I know what I would put Claire and Shane through in their relationship? Well ... kinda. I knew that, as Shakespeare liked to say, "the course of
true love never did run smooth," so I knew they'd have a lot of bumpy road to travel. But I also knew that ultimately, they'd travel it together.
By contrast, Michael and Eve kind of surprised me!

I have to say, Michael and Even kinda surprised me too! They seem an unlikely couple, yet they work really well, you know?
And I was wondering if you have a release schedule for the book after Carpus Corpe? Do you know what month its out?

I've been told (but don't hold me to it!) that FADE OUT (Book 7) will be a November 2009 release. Which is really, really quick. I'm turning the
book in at the end of February, actually!
If you want a bit of a hint about FADE OUT, here goes: Eve becomes a *literal* drama queen, and she's no longer the Gothiest Goth in all the land of
Morganville; Claire's mastery of the magic that runs the town gets put to the test; Myrnin's still bipolar; Michael's music takes off, which is a
PROBLEM; Shane is ... well. Shane.

Of course! That would be awesome.
I would imagine seeing your thoughts, in a way, on some random persons signature would be weird. But also talking to your favorite author is equally
weird, I think, lol!

I only found out you joined this forum rachel Caine and im excited. I have one question which is kind of random but I just have been thinking it since
I read the series.
Is shane to much of a bad ass if you get what I mean. Like he punches vampires and is never really scared alot. He is still an awesome charactor and I
like all you're charactors but did you mean for shane to be as tough and bad ass as he is. Sorry if I dont make sense.
And you are one of my most favourite writers and my favourite vampire writer.
And also in you're series is there ever going to be a fight between eve and monica that would be brillant.
And thanks for posting here because youre awesome.
