I moved it to the non fiction thread because I couldn't figure out where else to put it without pissing a whole bunch of people off! LOL.

General Discussions lol seems like a safe place to move it.

I'm okay with it being non-fiction. Hehe

I've always wanted to read this, but i've never gotten around to it.

I'm not religious at all, but my mother has a bible so I kinda just skipped to all the scary stuff in the future with the devil and his prostitute. It's pretty entertaining.:dunno:

Hahahahaha! That's funny. By the way, it's not raunchy at all. And I'm pretty sure the devil doesn't have an arrangement with alleged "prostitute". She's actually labelled a wh0re. My apologies for raining on your parade.

A lot of the Bible is metaphorical and the latter books/chapters heavily reference passages from throughout it so if you skip to what I call the "exciting" bit, then much of it won't make sense and hence won't be "exciting".

Unless you are willing to take a mass amount of time deciphering it from the beginning, I can't really promise that you'd get much out of it. It'll be like reading a map without a legend.

Btw, thank you Nikki for putting this under non-fiction. I appreciate it, even though I wouldn't have put up a fight if categorised otherwise.

Please note my personal beliefs are not reflected in my decision to move this thread. I was merely doing it to keep the peace.

But Janee - I'm glad it made you happy.

Nichole, I think you are taking out of contexts. The bible has all sorts of what i guess you can call fables. There are all sorts of honorable and dishonorable people in there.

I've never read the whole bible, but I've read alot of it. Now I would like to state my opinion on this will be neither here or there... I guess I'll just say I'm Switzerland! :D

this topic will always be controversial.

Ihaven't read it in like a decade, it has always been a hard read for me, too many meanings for one word.

I've read pieces of the Bible, but Im not one to completely read it
I find myself leaning to other religions such as Wicca ;)
I loved it when a woman once said on TV, "The bible isn't real. God may have written it, but that does not mean its real"
hahahah
If its not real, then God cannot exist
And, if we're gonna get technical, then it is real, because everything we can hold in our hands is real. It is there, and we can touch it, so it is real

Technically God did not write the Bible... real men wrote the Bible... mostly in a set of fables or in lots of letters...
