Hmm. I didn't that its funny, but I can imagine how crazy it was that they had hundreds of kids. It amazes me that thus far it was only Zeus and Posiden that had affairs/children. I wonder if Hades has a dirty secret.

I think thats it normal.

In English Class one of the common things said about Zeus is that hes a wh0re.

Gods are sexual beings, so are humans, its comical that they have 1000 of off spring that started the war.

I remember being in primary school and we had Gods and greek myths as a topic and there I first figured out all the drama that was going on between the Gods, like who with who and who takes revenge for it etc. I was really impressed :)

The image I had of the gods while reading the book is that they don't respect their oaths. I found it weird that the god of the dead is the one who respected the oath (if he did of course) isn't he the one supposed to unleash terror and havoc in the world and be evil etc? it seems to me that he is the "victim" he had been accused of a theft he hadn't commit and he was also victim of a theft.
And the other gods were so lazy that they didn't try to find out who was the true thief. They just accuse anyone and follow the obvious paths they are supposed to know better.

Maybe Hades has an even cleverer plan up his sleeve ;) I'm sure we'll hear more from him in the following books.

It doesnt really explain anything about hades in any of the books but it does explain his story in the final book. And you cant really blame the gods for going out with so many women. They are gods they can have how many women they want so I think they just took all the opportunities they wanted

still....I mean I've only read book 1 and 2...but they sleep with all these women and then have barely anything to do with their kids. I just find it kind of immature the way he portrayed the gods. And like....Ares was dating Aphrodite...it's like they're all having open end relationships. I just found it really weird.

The gods have a rule not to interfre in there kids lifes. And I dont think ares and aphrodite were dating it was aphrodite was having an affair.

Well they don't have to interfere with like the quests or anything but like...the way they treat them.

SPOILER FOR SECOND BOOK!

Like in the second book when you see Ares yelling at Clarisse...I mean that's not necessary. It wouldn't hurt them to be nicer or act like they cared a little more.

Affair...datingg...same diff.
kinda
lol.

Yeah true but he is ares the god of Jerks.
And yeah they never do treat them well.
But I hate how they made poisedon soooo nice. He is said to have a massive angry issues and he is all sweet and caring in the books. And what also bugs me is how percy being son of poeisdon is like soooo powerful. He can make super waves and SPOILER ALERT
In the final book he makes a tornado which blasts the second most powerful titan away. YEAH RIGHT.

The movie. It doesnt really look that good I think. The trailer I seen jwas kinda short so I cant really judge. And do you no how hard it is to get greek mythology books in my libary since percy jackson came out. For the least popular book of greek mythology I am 89 on the list.

Did you watch the big trailer that was like 2 minutes and thirty seconds? I think it will be amazing especially since they have Liam Neeson playing Zeus. But I really want to rewatch the original before it comes out.

God...my library only has SOME greek mythology books from what I've seen, and I really don't want to go out and actually buy any. Doesn't sound appealing. But uhm there's a lot of holds on some...and not so many on others. But I don't know which ones are like not historical boring books. I want like the actual stories. I was thinking about getting The Odyssey but I don't know if that's like shakespeare and you have to decipher it.

Just watched the 2.14 one to see the full trailer. The zeus looks awesome with the lightning armor. I didnt really understand what its about from the trailer though.

It only shows like 1 or 2 gods so it was kind of dissapointed. But it looks very realistic.

Indeed, It's a little obscure but if you follow you will be able to understand the Odyssey here is some links to have a general idea: http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/The_Odyssey
