Site Rules Reminder

I would just like to remind everyone to use the search function first before making a thread. We do this to prevent duplicate threads.

Also please place your thread in the right category. If it's about a TV show, put it in the TV forum. If it's about a movie then we also have a forum for that. And so on. We have a category for almost everything.

Not only will it make moderating easier for us admins, but it will also make navigating the forum easier for you too. People will be able to find your threads.

Sorry for nagging, but I feel like reiterating these things again in case you guys forgot or didn't know. This forum is pretty lenient with the rules and everything. We want to make this community as much fun and relaxed as possible. But there are just things we have to remember for everyone's benefit.

I better stop, I'm starting to sound like a mom.

:thanks:

I'm also adding into this, please remember no double-posting in general threads. If you have something more to say and you were the last person to reply, edit your post.

Also, when posting, try to post something that ADDS to the disscussion, rather than just a few words as a comment. People will like you a lot more then.

Sorry to be all Mum-like as well, just noticed it increasing recently.

^ I agree! Leaving only a few words doesn't add much to the discussion. Thanks, Katie!

But sometime we don't double-post by purpose. when the connexion is weak, we click two time and it adds two posts...

And thanks^^

I can tell when it's acidental, that's okay. Some threads, such as the reading/movie challenge, you have to and that is fine. You can actually click edit and then delete your own post, or one of the admins can for you.

It's continous, pointless posts that I'm refering too.

Have you ever received spam emails that talked about far out things that doesn't even make sense just so they can insert their links?

That's what pointless posts remind me of

:spamani:

If it's up to me I would delete it right away. Oh wait...it IS up to me.

So new rule, if we admins see someone making pointless, off topic posts the member will get warned once.

If he/she still won't stop, then admins will treat garbage posts as spam and automatically delete it.

It is up to the admins what they consider as "pointless". But I think it's pretty obvious.

Guys, post count is not important. The point of this forum is to talk about books, share opinions and even make friends. Once you do that and forget about your post count, you'll notice one day that you've reached 1 million. Which doesn't really mean anything because it's not a contest.

Wait this is just for spam right? for like people who do something ridiculous?
because I've went off topic with both an admin and a moderator before. It's not like you mean to, but sometimes it just happens. I don't think it would be that fair if those got deleted or I got warned because of it.

Yes it's for spamming, pointless posts. I'll freely admit I go off topic.

It's the posts that really add nothing to the conversation.
