I have to admit the whole series is kind of lame and boring to me, but I can't say I despise it because I've hardly read it.
In my opinion the someone could have done a better job. The book is really dramatic and simple but I suppose it matches the teens of today hence the
reason why it's so famous. I know it may be annoying seeing an Edward Cullen pillow at BlockBuster but that's life. Just avoid it if you hate it.

^i agree. why open a discussion if you are not going to retort???
twilight was a great TRILOGY. End of story.
I did not like the last book, to be honest, that is what i DESPISED. and as some have said why read something you hate. the reason i finished reading
breaking dawn is because of jacob's book and i had to know the ending.
but crazed twilight and anti-twilight fans are just that, CRAZED!
Rule #32.
Enjoy the little things.

People are still doing the "ZOMG I HATE TWILIGHT!!!!!!11!!!1!" posts on forums? OIC...
Sorry, I can't help but be snarky when I see posts like this. I, like most in this thread, am still a fan of the book series, but unlike most, I don't
agree with anything you said because it's fiction aka anything goes. If I wanted to write a book abt vampires that sucked the cream filling
out of Twinkies to sustain life rather than blood, I have every right to do so in the fictional world.
And really? Again with the pedo argument? The funny thing about that is when it comes to Twilight and Twilight ONLY it's "OMG NECRO!!! OMG PEDO!!! EW
EW EW!!" But I've yet to hear someone complain abt Sookie and Bill/Eric in the Southern Vamp series. Or any other vamp/human pairing in any other
series. It's just because it's Twilight and got ridiculously popular. So of course people are going to hop on the hate bandwagon. Not to say that all
antis have done so. But most that I've come across that still post topics like this are the bandwagon antis. Trust me, I've had to deal with my fair
share on BAE.
Okay, I'm done. Idk, this all just really rubbed me the wrong way, and not only because I enjoy/ed the series. Lol.

Hey I stand by it.
And it's not like I sat there and screamed at her and cussed her out.
the gay comment really ticked me off.
But if you do read this.
It's nothing personal.

You have no idea how many anti posts I've dealt with on BAE - I'm practised at this now. Very practised.
That being said, I really don't have the energy to fully type out my normal response to them.
So being short and sweet. It's a fictional world. Deal with it. And if you don't like. Don't read. Easy as that.

I just don't see the point in investing the time in 'hating' something so much. It's not going to change the opinions of the people who like it, so
just move on. You don't have to like it, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Can't say I'm the biggest fan of the series either. I'm constantly on the borderline of being an anti but meh.

Yeah. I see the point now. I actually mainly just don't like how obsessed people can get. One of my best friends actually has one of those life sized
cardboard Edwards. It's really creepy.
It's there own opinions and stuff, and I don't really think I ever really hated it, just didn't like it... Why waste the energy?

Steph, you said it well!
Like many have said, if you don't like it, just don't read it. I am so ANTI- Harry Potter, but I am not going to go open a thread and be all crazy
about. I do respect those that don't like Twilight. Everybody has that right. It's not going to appeal to everybody. I think things could be said in a
better way.

^thank you. & I agree soooo much. Its all abt the way you come off. Idk, I just didn't like the tone of the original post. Not to mention the gay
comment was way out of line and totally unnecessary. No hard feelings towards the poster at all tho. Everyone has a right to an opinion....even if the
opinion is formed in backlash to twilights enormity & popularity. I won't lie, it pissed me off when twilight exploded because we got overrun with
insane and annoying fangirls. Fangirls are okay when they're not....unintelligent, but twilight has spawned a massive amount of...unintelligent fans.
And it makes us intelligent fans look bad. BUT to hate something so much just because its popular is just as bad as loving it for the same reason. Now
had she come in here with legit reasons such as "its poorly written" or "I don't like vampire novels and/or romance novels" (as someone mentioned) or
"it just wasn't my cup of tea", I could respect that opinion. What I can't respect is the bandwagon opinions that almost every anti I come across
gives. Like I said tho, everyone has a right to "their" opinion.
That got really long, really fast. Lol. & lmao nikki. You know I can't resist.

wow, the tone of this thread is unlike any other thread I have come across on YAR!
I agree with Nikki, Janee, Nichole etc... If you don't like a book or series thats fine! why waste your time and effort on bashing it when you could
be reading or discussing a book that you actually do like?!

It's nice that there are a wide range of tones in the forums, as long as none are negative and such. I've thought about it and agree. Bashing is
mainly a waste of good energy. It can also just put you in a sour mood. Opinions are all individual and are to be respected, so it just goes by the
person. It's possible to have a civil conversation while disguising what you don't like, but to go over board is something else. I'd like to thank
this forum for helping me to "see the light." Extra thanks to Stephanie.
Should I not have expressed thanks? Um...

Hello...there's a lot that can be said pro and con regarding Twilight. I won't say a lot on that other than to say one of my criticisms is with
Bella's character. I personally like to see a stronger female lead character. In the movies it was more blatant, I think...but she seemed totally
obsessed and consumed by Edward. It almost seems if she doesn't have Edward, she is nothing. What do you think?

I think Bella comes across as a weak female character .. But I think she is stronger than that and I noticed that in NM.. I expected the whole thing
to show me how defeated she was .. But I felt that even though she was missing a part of her (Edward) she still tried to keep going.. And I think the
whole Twilight series is based arround that first love with a supernatural twist.. And it is meant to show how consummed she is with Edward .. But I
think Edward is the one who cant live without her really..
