Actually the more I think about it, the more it makes sense why Sparks would say that he would write a sequel if the movie did well. BECAUSE IN THE
MOVIE TIM DIES! Well of course! Then he'd probably figure how people would feel if he wrote a 2nd book and Tim dies...IMO.

But how would he write a second novel without contradicting the first book? That part would have my really confused.

If Tim died, and S & J reunited somehow, who is to say they couldn't or wouldn't get back together though? It's not entirely impossible. Plus
wasn't the Notebook kinda similar?

I can't believe Tim dies in the movie! That sucks!
It ruins everything! In the book John sells his fathers coins to pay for Tim's treatment...it's like John's sacrifice meant nothing....they just
wanted John and Savannah to end up together so people would like the ending... I liked the way the book ended and I hope there is no sequel

I agree.
my favorite part was the ending when John did that.
I'm waiting till the movie comes on ondemand because I think it's just going to infuriate me.

I knew better than to read the book. I just didn't figure they'd change it. I'm glad I didn't go watch it.

Sure I'm interested.
but I also know that, after reading the book, if they changed that much it's not worth my money. I'll just get mad in the theater. When it comes out
I'll give it a shot.

My boyfriend took me to see this today. I thought it was pretty good. I figured they changed it from the book. I haven't
actually read the book just yet, but I really want to.

only read the book if you're fully prepared to throw the book across the room.

Saw it this past weekend, it was fabulous. I loved every minute of it!
Acting was wonderful, and the plot was amazing! I'd go see it again.
