The Male POV
So I'm wondering if anyone didn't like the fact that this was focalized through Ethan's POV.
For our male members, do you think Ethan's romantic feelings and thoughts were portrayed acurately as a boy?
And for the girls how did it feel finally reading something like this from a male character's perspective?
I personally loved Ethan, but I'm interested to hear if any guys have actually read it and what they thought of it.

I really liked the male POV... Its like it was simple and to the point in a way... I dunno how to explain it. It was refreshing....

Having the novel from Ethan's point of view made it so much better for me. Finally this is a romance novel that doesn't have the girl fawning over the
guy constantly.
What I loved, is how that is wasn't all mushy from Ethan, it was more like how he noticed the little things and really actually cared about how Lena
was doing, how she was coping and was willing to put other things aside and to help Lena out, even if his friends then thought he was insane and
crazy.

It was definetely refreshing to read from a guy's POV. I'm glad it wasn't a girl fawning a guy kind of story. I thought it was smart to do it in his
POV cos that way we can learn about the magic casting stuff in that way. I think it would be difficult to read from Lena's POV.

I'm curious to find out if any guys have read this and whether they think it was believable from his POV or not.
I'm always interested when a female writer writes something through male POV and reverse.

I was actually kinda surprised when I found out it was from Ethan's pov. I read the first few parts until he had the dream and was woken up by Amma,
and it hit me that it's from HIS pov.
Lately I've read SOOO many YA reads which are from the girls pov, I just started reading this one with a female voice in my head. Once I found out it
was Ethan I went back, started the book again (it'd only be a couple of pages) with a guys voice in my head.
I'm glad it was from a guys pov, for a change. It wasn't a typical love story either, it was waay deeper, it was like Ethan said, like he was already
in love with the girl in his dreams. Their story started before they even met.
*sigh* loved this story

Haha, *are* there any guy members? YA readers are kind of a minority in the male species, I think.
I actually liked the idea that it was from a male's perspective but I actually don't think it was male enough. As in, Ethan reacted and acted in a
lot of ways that no teenage boy would ever do. I have yet to meet a guy who notes *every* item of clothing his girlfriend (or in Ethan's case, the
girl he's interested in) wears. I found it a little on the unbelievable side that he thought of Scarlett O' Hara when he saw Macon's staircase. And
not to mention the fact that he always used the words 'Cary Grant smile' to describe Macon in a good mood. I really don't know many guys who would do
that. Which is why I'm interested to know if, depending on whether any guys have read this book, whether *they* think it's realistic or not.

We're going nowhere with waiting for a guy to read this... I think we should grab a guy from this forum and make him read Beautiful Creatures and get
our questions answered.
Muhahhaha!!!

From a guys point of view I thought it was amazing. It wasnt like all girly with "OMG HE IS SO ROMANTIC OW MY GOSH" It was actually really like the
way guys act and since it was written by a girl thats good. And it is true like the way ethan acts guys really dont like to lose there rep from there
mates.
But truthfully I think Ethan is kinda old fashioned in the books the way he thinks and stuff. Like I would NEVER think like that. And I mean NO guy
thinks like that.

Yay! We get a guys comment on the book, and we didn't have to gag him, tie him up and make him read the book! Cool.

I feel like I am always reading from a female POV or the story is mostly surrounding a girl.
It was deff nice to be reading from a male POV, I liked it.
And the authors did a good job with that.

I haven't read this yet, but I do like the idea of it from the male POV. It's just refreshing. I'm a girl and I will always enjoy reading from a
girl's point of view, but it's nice to change it up once in a while.
