Title and Cover

I thought we could discuss the meaning of the title and the book cover. Here is the cover:

Didn't Lena (or one of the other casters) refer to humans as 'beautiful creatures' in the book somewhere, or am I just totally imagining that?

I can't remember...the title is the one thing that I am really curious about.

I always assumed the cover had something to do with Ravenwood Estate, but I could be wrong on that account too.

I'm reading the book still right now, and I came across a quote where the title is mentioned. Macon says it:

Quote:
Macon Ravenwood
Mortals. I envy you. You think you can change things. Stop the universe. Undo what was done long before you came along. You are such beautiful creatures.

Its page 446. :)

As for the cover, I think that its showing the old south trees and stuff. Makes me think of the Ravenwood plantation.

I knew someone referred to mortals/humans as beautiful creatures.

And for me, the cover is the swamp that ethan's grandma walks through that night all dressed in her Sunday best.

I am in love with that quote. Macon is such a great character.

“I’m afraid of falling,” she said. “I have wings,” he whispered.

Perhaps they were right putting love into books. Perhaps it could not live anywhere else.

Completly forgot about this quote.
I love it. Suits the book so much when you think of it in that way.

The cover - I'm with Emma on this one. That it's the estate where the found the locket. Greerbiere or something like that?

I haven't read the book yet (hence why I've skipped everyone's comments) but this cover stands out to me as one I definately would pluck from the shelves.

The writing against the dark forest looks like sinister, and almost pulling (if you catch my meaning). It's intriguing, to say the least!

I loved the title, it's so intriguing. It makes me think about how 'depressed' some people are that they can't live in Pandora (from Avatar) but they don't stop to think about how amazing we are as human beings and how amazing our world really is.

As far as the cover image, I think it's the road leading up to Ravenwood Estates. If you read the acknowledgments at the end they say thanks to their graphic design for creating the road to Ravenwood exactly how they imagined it (or something along those lines) which made me assume they were talking about the cover image.
