Mood: It's raining books!

[*] posted on 17-11-2008 at 07:42 PM

I just finished this book called Exit Here. It was one of the most intense books I've ever read. I sat there at the end just staring at the last page, thinking "are you for real?"

I'm in the process of writing a review for it for the main page, so stay tuned.

I'm reading Glass Houses now by Rachel Caine.

@sky - What is Mistress all about? Is it any good?

I want to get the Rachel Caine Series, but I'm gonna have to order it online. No bookshop remotely near where I live or work sell any of the books I want to read!

Are you enjoying it?

The Rachel Caine books are awesome Dragon. The entire Morganville series is really good.

I want to get her Weather series now. And yes, I ordered mine online too. Stupid Australian bookstores.

The stupid bookstores annoy me so much! When I want a book I like want it then, I hate having to wait a milion years for it to come in!

Although, there is a Borders in Parramatta and that seems to have ALOT of the books I want!

I'm currently reading Brisngr by Christopher Paolini - and taking my time at it too..I've been reading it for a week and I'm only half-way through (usually I devour chunky books pretty fast)

I envy those of you with the ability to pace your reading.

I just can't. Once I start, everything in life is on hold till I'm done.

Really? With me it just depends on the book I suppose. Sometimes it's a particularly gripping I-will-die-if-if-I-put-down book but as I've been really focusing on reading classics lately like Jane Austen and Tolstoy it hasn't been so suspenseful though entertaining all the same.
Breaking Dawn was definitely the cliff-hanger-after-every-paragraph sort of book for me though, I read it despite my already sleep deprived state.

I dont read the classics in the same compulsive, psychopathic manner that I tend to read popular fiction because they take more concentration and reflection.

Which Tolstoy have you read? I started Anna Karenina a while back, but I got distracted by the Bronte sisters and have been reading their books instead. I should go back and finish it.

agreed :) classics deserve reading on a cosy chair in my bedroom without noisy distractions - I've found school to be impossible. Fantasy is the best genre to get lost in at school.

Yes, I've been reading Anna Karenina. Well I'm only a quarter way through and then I got distracted by Brisingr. I will certainly go back to reading it however after I finish Brisingr.

Hahahaha yeah me too. Though I tend to be able to turn off my analytical brain when I'm reading now.

Thank god too, because if I couldnt there is no way I could enjoy Twilight as much as I do :)

It's so annoying when you're reading then all of a sudden you find yourself analysing it. I have to hit myself to make me stop.

Maybe you should start a thread about them? Give us a little info and tease us into reading them.
