Her attitude just seems like she doesn't understand fans or why they are the way they are. She really blew it up when she sold the rights to make the
movie...now she's gotta deal with it!

I think that everyone needs to stop being so harsh. She didn't have to take the time to answer any of those questions, and i think that we need to
respect her and just be grateful that she did.
I personally DO NOT think she was being condescending. I think she was being honest. The book is not done, and as much as we all want it to be done,
it won't be finished for probably a very long time, if it ever gets published. And as a fan of SM and her books, i respect that.
You know this women gave us a few years out of her life. Time that was spent going on tours for her book, and all the energy she spent, it was all for
us, it was valuable time taken away from her children. And that is a very special gift that she has given us. It's time that everyone respects her
space, and lets her enjoy her family.
When she's ready to finish a novel, it will be done. Until then we just need to be patient.

I have no problem being patient. I understand that it is a paradox to write a book and get famous and then have being famous get in the way of your
writing which made you famous. I do not think that she was being condescending about midnight sun, but personally, I find her a little uppity and
about everything and very self-righteous. That doesn't mean I am not or was not a fan of hers. I really do like her books. And I have no problem with
waiting a year or seven for her next book to come out.

Well I still think she had an attitude in some of her answers especially about the future writing of books.. that's my opinion and how I viewed it. My
personal opinion about if she finishes Midnight Sun is that I could care less if she did or didn't. I'd read it if she did, if she doesn't, oh well.
Same for the Host trilogy. She's not a god of a writer in my opinion so really I'm not sitting at home dwelling on the fact if she's gonna write
something or not.
I don't like the fact that her answers are as if she's fed up with people being "impatient" about her writing again. You write books people end up
enjoying, and then sell the rights to create a movie, which in turn is gonna give your books even MORE publicity, come on what do you expect? This is
how normal celebrities live daily, and we don't baby them. I think she should just suck it up and appreciate the fact there are people who are
obsessed with her books.

I seen her being grateful for her fans for years. Going on book tours. Sitting there signing books for hours.
Answering the same questions OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
I really don't get where you got it anywhere in her interview that she thinks of herself as so high and mighty.
Because to be honest this doesn't sound uppity:
"It's a cool process, and one I never expected to have the opportunity to be involved with. "---That sounds grateful to me.
"Hey Cocoa! I miss you guys, too! Hope you're well! "----Replicating kindness.
"I was starting to realize that people were actually going to read this book, and I was nervous about what the real life citizens of Forks would
think, and more especially what the real life people of La Push would think"
------That shows me how caring and respectful she is. Enough to worry that she would offend people and hoping that she didn't.
"but I didn't want you to think I was ignoring the question. "----Doesn't want us (the fans) to feel ignored.
"If it were done, I would be throwing it on the bookstore shelves myself. I'd love to be able to give it to all the people who are anxiously waiting
for it."
"As I said, it would make me very happy to be able to give it to anyone who wants it. "
-----She wants to make us happy. But the story isn't in her head. The words aren't coming to her. You can't blame her for that.
If you'd like to come back with quotes that prove to me what exactly you found in that interview to be offensive and show that she is ungrateful or
whatever else, please bring those quotes forward because currently i see none. And i reread the interview twice.

And to add on to this,
She was in her fandom SO long. I have been a fan since Twilight came out, and I have talked with her, She use to be on the chat on the Lex all the
time, and post on the boards. She was really nice, after the fandom blue up and she was really busy. She a stay at home mom, my sis is a stay at home
mom of three kids as well, she can't make a deadline for going to the office to turn in stubs, SM has three boys, she gave up parts of her kids lives
for he fans! you think Tours are easy and fun, maybe the first one but after you do the same cities for the fifth time, you just want to be with your
family in your own bed. I hate when people critiez her for not being true to her fans, I am not the biggest SM fan anymore, but to say she should be
more involved, or she should finsh Midnight Sun, or Write another host book, these authors dont owe us anything, they dont have to even finsh a
series, the write for them selves.
*totally agrees with star*

I think by answering this many questions and taking so much time to give insight to her fans is enough indication that she does care about her fans. I
guess she is serious about how she wants to be seen by her fans which is just as important. And all the things she does to make sure that the fans get
movies that are really close to her books .. with all the travelling , staying on set, and guiding the actors is also time consuming and it takes away
time from her private time with her family. I didnt find her at all condescending , she actually felt like she was trying very hard to give the fans
as much details as possible and I think that it is important to aknowledge that no one is perfect and she is in the middle of a rollercoster ride. And
that has to be taken into consideration. All in all, I love the fact that after all the time and effort she puts in she actually took more time to
answer so many questions with so much details.

I know that it is hard to be a mom in any situation, stay at home or working. I know that it takes a lot to go on 5784290758420 tours a year. To hear
screaming girls everywhere you go. I understand that. I honestly do NOT care if she ever comes out with another book. It would not bother me in the
least for her to not. If she does, of course, I will read it. I think it's very awesome that she answered that many questions. Many authors do NOT
even have the time for that. So I appreciate that she answered a ba gillion questions. I'm sorry if my personal opinion reveres her as slighty uppity.
I do NOT think that she is a bad person. I do NOT think she is a bad author. I read all of her books up to now and will continue to read them, if and
when, they come out.

That's the joy of having different opinions, I view alot of her public statements etc as sounding uppity, condescending etc. That's how I see them and
alot of others too. You guys may not agree and that's fine. I don't feel bad for anyone that is in the media like that...especially her considering
she knew the kind of publicity she would get for the movies. That is the life you choose to live, it comes with sacrifices. I'm a working mom of 2, I
know what it's like to sacrifice time with your family to work. It's life. So I have no pity for her in her situation, and I think she's lucky to have
so many fans because that's what sells her books.

I'm with you Star. I think her answers were fine. What part of her responses was condescending?
I think her response to the questions about Midnight Sun was completely legitimate. It sounds to me that she's a little over being in the Twilight
world right now, and I can understand that. Would you rather she finish Midnight Sun heartlessly, or wait till her soul is back in it again so she can
finish it properly? It's not like she left the series half way through, or something. She finished the Twilight books, we KNOW what happens in
Midnight Sun.
I thought it was a great interview, and I loved hearing from her again.

She doesn't sound too bad here, actually. Much better than other times, definitely. Plus no bashing of classics and claiming superiority with flawed
logic this time! Or claiming how fun it would be to stalk people and share her list. -_-
(Also: I've spoken to people who stopped liking the books so much, because she insulted them to their face. So yeah. Not as bad as in previous years)

I think she has an interesting sense of humor, and if you're not aware of that, you could easily be offended by what she says.
Who knows, maybe she's a bit like Kristen Stewart and is just over being recognized everywhere she goes. She may be a little bitter.

When she says, straight to your face, that she doesn't like your name, or that you don't like Edward because you've never, ever been in love, all with
a straight face and no laughing at all... yeah no. This was way before everything blew up too.

why should you be bitter about the fame you knew would come. meyer and stewart both knew it was possible that they would be ridiculously famous. if
you are going to be bitter to the people that put where you are then you are in the wrong business and you do not deserve what you've been given. i
mean who writes a book or becomes an actress with the intention of not being popular. they knew it would happen. they should deal with it.

yea..that's how I feel about her lol.
