I can't find Rebel Angels anywhere! *sigh* I'll have to wait until next year. I've been forbidden to buy any more books :(

OMG haha I'm going to use that next time :P Mind you, I'm old enough now that if I do buy drugs it's my own choice, but we won't get into that.

No, I'm supposed to be saving for the UK, so my whole Christmas list is books. :P

The Sweet Far Thing I think is the best out of all of them.

An amazing series though. I love it.

What's Going Bovine about?

I really blewed with A Far Sweet Thing. I was so excited when I finally bought it, read one Kartik/Gemma moment and had to read all the rest. Hence why I ended up spoiling the book for myself, and I trawled through the book for weeks afterwards.

I reall do love the series though. It was a great one to pick up and read.

Synopsis From Amazon:

All 16-year-old Cameron wants is to get through high school—and life in general—with a minimum of effort. It’s not a lot to ask. But that’s before he’s given some bad news: he’s sick and he’s going to die. Which totally sucks. Hope arrives in the winged form of Dulcie, a loopy punk angel/possible hallucination with a bad sugar habit. She tells Cam there is a cure—if he’s willing to go in search of it. With the help of a death-obsessed, video-gaming dwarf and a yard gnome, Cam sets off on the mother of all road trips through a twisted America into the heart of what matters most.

Loooove Libba. Easily one of my favorite authors. I just read Going Bovine the other day, and as ambiguous as EVERYTHING in that book was, it was absolutely amazing.
I also totally loved the Gemma Doyle trilogy. One of the few books that have made me cry at the end....also absolutely amazing.
Libba is Queen.

Did you guys hear that Libba is releasing a fantasy series that takes place in the 1920s called The Diviners (book one by the same name)?

First book out in 2012. I am so excited for it!

Oh my, thanks for the news Nordly, I'm so excited. Here's what they write about the content of the series:

Quote:
In The Diviners, a supernatural fantasy series set in Manhattan during the 1920s, Bray follows a teen heroine she says is reminiscent of two of the era's most famous literary women—Zelda Fitzgerald and Dorothy Parker. Bray, who admitted to having always been fascinated by the Jazz Age, said she's looking forward "to offering readers a wild new ride full of dames and dapper dons, jazz babies and Prohibition-defying parties, conspiracy and prophecy—and all manner of things that go bump in the neon-drenched night.”

I can't help it, it sounds a little like Gemma Doyle set in a different place and time :P Nevertheless I'm super excited, I can't believe it will only be released in 2012 :( That's like forever away.
Anyway, I love how Libba is able to take a subject I have not interest in (like Jazz-1920s-whatever) and turn it into something I immensly enjoy! I can't wait.

They were making a movie for this series, but then their contract ran out so they had to stop
Sucks to be Libba :D
It would've been great as a movie
