I rather feel bad when I buy a better set of books, the first ones I had look all sad and lonely then. *sniffle*

Insinuations all around...

I never actually get paperbacks, I only have ebooks and hardcovers.
Only time I get another set is if it's something real special, like the cool HP box set or such.

We don't get a lot of books released in hardcover over here so often, I don't have a choice.

I know, I'm not judging, nothing wrong with softcovers, it's not like you're buying the book that would make the most effective weapon or something, it's all about the story after all.

yeah me too!! the copy I first read is precious and has all the memories of reading it for the first time, the new ones might look nice, but they're not as well loved!

Hey guys,

this is the response i got from Penguin in relation to our question about the difference in book sizes:

We’ve decided to go with the larger format because this is the first time we’ve been on board with a new Vampire Academy and we wanted to make it a point of difference from the others. We’re also following the US lead and doing the two formats – they will begin with a hardback (which is not quite right for our market) and then going into the smaller format in probably around 12 months. This is pretty standard with adult books (though not so much with YA in Australia, as you’ve probably noticed).
