I think Harry Potter is an example of teen books that would appeal to boys, yes.

yeh he does, he's reading last book, he actually read 300pg straight (he usually literally falls asleep after 15-20pg) so I'm really proud of him for reading that much in one sitting haha I'd like him to read more books

I'm going to post something on the main page about this poll in the next day or so. I want to get a real cross section of opinions before I call it. I don't think the themed month will take place till around October or November, though. Ivy and I are super busy until then.

SO I voted Aussie cause you can include some books by aussie authors that would appeal to male members. At least thats my theory, I just want to read an aussie authors book.

Foxy, there are some really excellent Aussie authors around. Justine Larbalestier is Australian (I think).

My fave Australian author is probably Melina Marchetta and John Marsden though (for ya).

Edit: On a side note, this poll is incredibly close. I kind of feel uncomfortable calling it as Books for Boys at the moment as only 13 people have voted. If you know someone that hasn't voted, give them a gentle reminder!

ive started asking guys what they've read (actually i ask IF they read first LOL) well the ones that do ive notice tend to read alot of non fiction books like bibliographies, self-help things, how to books not DIY but like stuff about sport etc. and for fiction theres very little - harry potter pops up or fantasy books that relate to games and stuff

but yeh ive notice they read more non fiction than fiction
edit: plus historical/war fiction/non fiction books lol

Teen boys to give the boys on this forum a chance.:)

Like seriously when you guys had the theme of jace shirtless my older sister always came past and said "What is that" and I got so embarrased and went red lol.

Harry Potter doesnt really make me think of teen boys. I think books with action and stuff is good for teen boys.

" Remember when we were back at teh hotel and you said if we make it out alive you'll dress up in a nurse outfit and give me a spongebath"- Jace
"Actually Simon said he'll give you the spongebath"- Clary
"as soon as im on my feet handsome"- Simon

hmm, both themes would be good, I've voted Aussie because there are some amazing Australian authors!!

thinking about books for boys, I can't really think of any YA books that are marketed for guys, there are a lot of adult books that would interest males, but I can't really think of any YA, except for The Tomorrow Series... which is Australian!

Maybe you could combine the two themes and make it Australian books for boys?? win/win!! :)
