Twilight - Stephenie Meyer

A lot of you have come over from bellaandedward.com so the twilight talk is old for you...

But we do have members here that aren't from there, so I thought I'd stick the thread up and see if any new discussions arose.

Twilight seems to be a touchy subject these days, so play nice kids.

If you want to discuss the other three books in the series, I'll make a thread for each of them (or you can, if you beat me to it)

Twilight. I personally liked the first book the best. I mean I like the saga....but I'm not obsess....like crazy obsess. I do like to read other books and yes Edward is the perfect guy, but I rather look for my own perfect guy. I don't pick teams. I love both Edward and Jake. What can i say....a gril can dream about the guy she falls in love with.

wow, i like that you're not a fanatic. Im my experience with Twilight, i've seen those who would give their left arm for Twilight, and those that hate it passionately.

I like that you're kind of indifferent.

lol...thanks.
i went to her host signing here in san diego and it was crazy.
Some people were in their 30's and going crazy and bringing barbies and just plain crazy. I was kind of scared...lol
I went with a friend and she was yelling. But i did have fun though.

I know what you mean Feybie, a lot of my favorite authors are non-Australian and hardly venture over here but YOU happen to live in a most enviable city where my one of my favorite authors live: Alison Croggon.
I've heard she does library visits down there..

I'm a bit like Sky with Twilight. I liked the series but I'm not crazy-obsessed it like my friends are..who've read the whole series more than a dozen times. I've only read the whole series twice which is not that much...I think.

haha add me to the list. I'm not obsessed either. Love the books, but I'm afraid of reading it again. I might over analyze everything and ruin the books for me. So I only read it once.

Well, I love it. And there was a time when I felt way too obsessed for my own good.

I think its kinda waning though.

Me too. I was totally obsessed, but it was waning. The fuss about the movie has brought it back. Rofl. I'm sure it will wane though. Like hp, with me. :ymca:

I wonder if Twilight was the peak of her career, or whether her next work will be as fantastically popular...

^ that's a good question. Who knows. Time will tell, but who can be that ridiculously lucky twice in a life time? She like won the lottery with Twilight. Not that I'm saying it was easy, but it was her first thing she wrote.

i think the twilight fever is waning for everyone. you're only super obsessed when you're reading it. afterward, it still remains something you love and love to talk about, but its not the same as your first experience reading it. especially since the series is over. it was the same for me and HP. lol.

I still haven't finsihed reading The Host and Breaking Dawn. I know this girl named Bree, she's on stephenie's top on myspace. She goes to my school. She likes twilight, but now it's just getting annoying she says. She hopes that it kind of dies down, and something new comes along. A new author with a new book and characters. Something we haven't read.
It is kind of annoying. Whenever someone says vampire...first response is Twilight.
Vampires don't have to be about twilight. That's what gets on my nerves. Why can't it be about Anne Rice. Has everyone forgotten her. She's the first to introduce vampire romance. Not Stephenie Meyer.

I did that exact thing. I was crazy obsessed last year, everything reminded me of Twilight. I read them so many times in a row, nothing else, for about a month, and then put them down because I was afraid of ruining them. It was too late though. I picked up Twilight in September, and I just couldn't read it. None of it compared to how good it seemed when I first read it. I'm sure they're still good books, but the magic has been lost for me.
