Summer Days and Summer Nights was a good read….but not an excellent read. I try to say this as subjectively as possible, but it just wasn’t as good as the Christmas edition. Some of the stories were just flat and boring, one I skipped because I couldn’t stand that the characters were referred to my letters, and some of the stories were super cute and bubbly. Stephanie Perkins’ story, for example, was magical and beautiful. Just as good as the Anna and the French Kiss series. For real, that in itself could have been a whole book.
I loved that Summer Days and Summer Nights includes diverse and LGBTQ themes in the stories. Different cultures are also represented in several of the stories, including SP’s story. So, there’s basically a story for mostly everyone! Which I loved! I loved that it targeted several different audiences.
Overall, I thought it was a good read. I was a bit disappointed, though, that there were several stories in this collection that I just wasn’t very interested in. I wish that it would have been more consistent throughout the whole book. I did like it, though, and definitely recommend it as a good beach read.
