I devoured this series in less than a week. Part of me is really excited to say that, because I got to read all the hot Asher scenes. The other part of me, though, is a little bit devastated that it’s over. I mean, seriously, why can’t there be like 20 books in this series? I’d read them all.
I hate to say it, but Restoration was probably my least favorite book in the series…. It was a little choppy. There were several scenes that felt as if there was this huge space of content that I missed. Scenes would skip ahead of where they had just ended, and it kind of confused me. I wish that the story would have been a little more smooth and that I would have had a chance to read the scenes that I had seemed to miss.
The beginning of the story also confused me a little. I guess I should say spoiler alert for this paragraph………Ok, so the beginning of Restoration kicks off where book 4 ended and starts with Eve being unconscious and not remember anything about Asher or the gargoyles. She remembered a little bit, but not very much. Personally, I loved that. I wish that she had lost those memories for a good chunk of the book. How awesome would it have been to see Asher protect her and try to woo her all over again? Instead, she gained back all of her memories the very next chapter. So, I didn’t even really understand the point of her losing the memories in the first chapter.
Asher, as always, was perfection. I really enjoyed watching his character grow in the book. Yes, he was still a little childish and grumpy, as is his nature, but I felt like so much happened to him in this book. Also, him and Eve, swoooooooooooon! I just wish that there would have been some more swoony scenes between them, especially since this was the last book.
I have to mention Gage, because I’m super confused that Randi Cooley Wilson’s next series doesn’t focus on him. OMG that man is hot! Since the next series isn’t about him, I wonder if we’re going to hear more about his ongoing relationship with the sorceress. I didn’t really feel that that was completed in Restoration, and I REALLY want to know more! I so wish an entire series could be dedicated to him.
The action in Restoration was jam packed. There was SO MUCH going on throughout the whole book. There were also several scenes that blew me away! I did NOT see some of those things coming!!! I don’t want to give any spoilers about those moments, because I don’t want to ruin it for you, but they were good!
Overall, I absolutely adored this entire series. I’m very sad that it’s over, and I can’t wait until Randi’s next series comes out. I do hope that she eventually considers going back to the Revelation series, instead of just bringing them back as guest stars, because I really don’t feel that Asher and Eve’s story is over. I feel like they have more to tell.
I can’t express to you how much you need to go read this book. Go buy the whole series, right now!!!
