My Review

I’ve typically been a really big fan of this series, but this one really missed the mark for me. Overall it really just came down to two things 1) I HATED Stephanie and, 2) I HATED some of the themes that were going on in this book. So do keep in mind that my rating of this book probably had less to do with the actual writing and more to do with the actual content.

Stephanie was really uptight and boring. She tended to speak in a really stiff way that nobody really talks like. It was really difficult for me, because I didn’t like her from the very start of the book. Once you don’t like a character, there’s not much coming back from that. I did like Nick a lot…..I just didn’t like him with Stephanie.

There are two themes in this book that I didn’t like at all. I’m kind of iffy about specifying them, because I really don’t want to give anyone any spoilers. I will say, though, that not everyone is going to like them. Some will….some won’t. Also, there’s some possibly trigger warnings in this book. I had to do a lot of skimming, because I was seriously not into what was being discussed.

I thought that this book really set it up well for the next book in the series. There are two characters introduced who I am assuming will be starred in the next book. If that’s the case, then I’m really excited for it. I thought they were absolutely adorable! So, there’s that.

Overall, this book wasn’t for me. Again, it had nothing to do with the writing style. This author is amazing. Sometimes, though, ratings just happen off of pure dislike of the content. Unfortunately, that was the case for this one.
