I like the variations on society that different authors come up with
I love how they can mirror our society. It makes it so much more realistic!
I love how there is always an awesome hardcore romance.
I love to read all the different ideas the authors come up with.
I love to read and think about alternate futures or realities that could possibly happen – they’re so creepy! Thanks for the giveaway!
I love glimpsing what our familiar society could evolve into. It’s like reading about an entirely different world, but it’s really just one of many veariations of our future.
I love to read about all the different things that our world could evolve into. All the different futures that authors come up with are interesting and fun to read about : )
I like how hey make you think.
I love reading about possibilities
Great Books!
It is interesting to see how others think our society will evolve. Unless we break free of those who manipulate us with their hidden agendas, the future may be less than we hope. Think of this. Obama bailed out Wall Street and other big businesses and the CEOs promptly gave themselves whopping bonuses of our money. Romney wants to lower the taxes for the rich so the rest of us must make up the difference and the poor and unemployed will lose vital services. How are Obama and Romney different? The end result is the same. Our future is bleak.
I love how dystopian literature presents a society or world in which our choices are limited or restricted or out of our control–and that’s the way things are becoming now, in real life. The stories allow us to have a glimpse at what our world may be like in five or ten or twenty years from now. It’s both scary and sad at the same time. (I believe that’s why dystopian lit is so popular right now!) As more of our freedoms are taken away, we are truly entering a dystopian world.
I love how dystopians really search out every possible futures, and how we got to those points. The world building allows for so much in dystopians.
I definitely agree with candice. They’re a possible future that we may love or fear. But I generally like YA dystopia because a ton of them have this messed up government in which teenagers have to take down. Which is badass.
I like the adventure that the stories always bring. There always seems to be some great obstacle that needs to be overcome.
I love seeing the heroine (or hero, but I like my dystopians with strong female protagonists) overcoming society but discovering something about herself along the way.
