Bitten Season 3 Episode 1 Review

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Bitten TV series, it’s based off of the Women of the Otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong, which happens to be my favorite series of all time (yes, even over Harry Potter.) It doesn’t follow the books exactly, and this will probably be its last season, but it’s fairly accurate.

I’ve had a love hate relationship with the Bitten TV series. I thought that season 1 was super cheesy and lame, but I powered through it, because I owed the series that much. Season 2 was FREAKING AWESOME! And now…we’re on to season 3. And let me tell you, the first episode SUCKED.

My biggest complaint with episode 1 of season 3 was that it strayed so far off course of the books. There were two major storylines going on that never existed in the series at all (I’ve read all 13 books…I mean…come on!) I’m okay with the TV series having SOME changes, but I’m not okay with it changing MAJOR things.

Another one of my major complaints was all of the torture scenes. I remember this from season 1, because we constantly had to cover our faces or fast forward through those scenes. We actually had to fast forward through about ten minutes of episode 1 this season. First off, it’s very confusing, because the book series didn’t have all of those torture scenes. Sure, they explained that Clay was the “enforcer” of the pack and that he was big and scary, but there were no gory scenes in the book. And, I’m fine with there being some gore in the TV series. I understand that this is television, and they need to do stuff to attract viewers. Honestly, though, I found it very unattractive. I don’t want to watch you stab through someones eyes or rip out their fingernails. That’s just disgusting and unwanted.

I also thought that Elena’s acting was HORRIBLE! Also, they’re starting to ruin Jeremy’s characters. It’s really quite sad /= Overall, I was VERY disappointed.

Did anyone else watch Bitten this week? What did you think? Let me know in the comments section below!

  1. I watched the first season and liked it but then forgot about it. I’ve recently reduced my cable channels and don’t get this channel. Hope it is on Netflix or Hulu so I can catch up.

    • They have seasons 1&2 on Netflix! And they typically put the next season on there shortly after it finishes running. I don’t have that channel either, but I was impatient, so I purchased it on Itunes.
